RULES AND REGULATIONS:

HELMETS ARE MANDATORY – ALL MEMBERS & CHAPERONES - ALL GUESTS-

NO HELMET- NO BOARDING – NO EXCEPTIONS !

Parents please make sure helmets are in good condition. One hard blow can seriously damage a helmet.

(**** WE RECOMMEND THE SANDBOX MIPS HELMETS**** GET A 35% DISCOUNT FROM OUR SPONSOR! EMAIL FVSC@LIVE.CA FOR THE CODE! HELMETS WITH THE MIP PROTECTION SYSTEM HAVE SUPERIOR MULTI-DIRECTIONAL SAFETY FEATURES.)

Butt pads and mouth guards are strongly recommended, particularly for younger riders.

Rider Team and Super Grom level athletes may not utilize ipods, iphones or cameras while riding with the Club during coaching sessions. Mental concentration while riding features in the terrain park or jumping, is essential to minimize injuries.

All athletes should have a communication device or cellular phone to use in case of separation from the team. It is recommended that a designated guardian/parent remain at Mt. Seymour so they may be contacted in case of injury.

In case of separation from the group, the athlete must either remain at the top or bottom of the chair. If the athlete is mid-mountain, they must not hit any features and immediately go the the meeting place.

***ATHLETES MUST NOT HIT ANY FEATURES (JUMPS/RAILS OR OTHER) without a coach present while riding with FVSC***

Foul language cannot be tolerated. Club athletes must act respectfully toward others on the team, the public (including skiers!) and Mt Seymour staff. It is important that we portray a good image of our club. Any bad behaviour will be met with consequences on a case-by-case basis.

Drug use before a session, while riding or during club activities (camps/events etc) is absolutely prohibited and will result in expulsion from the team - with no refund of registration fees.

Liquor is also absolutely prohibited before a session, while riding or during club activities (camps/events/etc) by team minors and will result in expulsion from the team without refund.

Snowboarding places rigorous physical demands on the body. Although it can be a safe sport, unexpected injuries may occur. Many injuries can be prevented by proper physical preparation (sleep and healthy food), suitable and properly adjusted equipment, and common sense.

As part of our agreement and MOU with the local moumtains, we have agreed that no athlete will ride on resort property or features, when the resort is closed to the public. Doing so may result in expulsion from the team and losing the resort industry/season pass.

Members must be registered with BC Snowboard Association prior to attending any club activities. Minimum: $35 Basic Recreational Membership is required.

A Physician's note clearing you for sport may be required to return to training, with the Club, particularly following a concussion, broken bone or other serious injury.
